Robert M. Buckman (Bob)
Board Member
Mr. Buckman (Bob) is a renowned architect with over 30 years of experience; he graduated from California State Polytechnic University with a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Missouri Columbia. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB),. Bob is a registered architect in the states of Missouri, Colorado, and Illinois. In addition, he serves the Webster Groves Missouri Community as the chair of the Architectural Review Board and sits on the Architectural Studies Advisory Board as a member for the last 9 years.
As a qualified architect, Bob has worked at several outstanding architectural firms over his 30 years in the profession. Bob is currently an Associate Principal at Lamar Johnson Collaborative which is a Clayco Enterprise Subsidiary. In addition, Bob worked at KWK Architects for 9 years as a project design manager, 10 years as the Managing Design Principal for The Sutton Studio, 4 years at Dickenson Hussmann Architects, and 10 years as a designer for Christner Architects along with a short stint at The Henderson Group and a brief internship at Sigrid Miller Pollin Architects.
Bob has worked in the Higher Education, Cultural and Institutional, K-12, Residential, Commercial, and Industrial sectors throughout his career primarily in the Midwest and West Coast. Recent regional projects included the FSGM Adoration Chapel ADA upgrades and Library Addition in Alton, Illinois for the Sisters of Saint Francis George the Martyr convent. Expansion at Johnson’s Shut-ins State Park for Missouri State Parks in Reynolds County Missouri. Numerous projects for the Washington University Medical School including a new PT Clinic @4240 and office suites for Emergency Medicine on the 6th & 7th floors of Renard Hospital, and the 1234 Kingshighway off campus complex in the Grove. Renovation of Clayton Studios in Richmond Heights Missouri, the premier recording studio in the St Louis region. The new Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium @ Blue Jay Field for Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
His projects and project Team members have received numerous awards from the AIA, At Homer Magazine, ASLA, and Construction Industry. Some projects include; Maryville University Saints Hall in 2018, Kirkwood City Hall Enhancements in 2014, Emiquon Nature Preserve near Lewistown, IL in 2013, Keysor and Robinson Elementary School additions in 2011, At Home Magazine Design Award- 2011 for an Off the Grid Colorado Ranch, Johnson’s Shut-ins State Park and The Black River Visitors Center along with Goggins Mountain Campgrounds in 2011. The Linnean House Renovations at MOBOT in 2010, Express Scripts HQ1 in 2006, Westminster College Coulter Science Center in 2004, The Jewel Box Restoration in Forest Park in 2003- AIA Craftsmanship Award in 2001 for the Kornfeld Cottage, Donius Student Center at Maryville University in 2001, Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska along with Clayton High School Addition and the Center of Clayton in 1999, and the Sophia M Sachs Butterfly House in 1997, Cal Poly Pomona Honor award, Hoffman Award, Aesthetics Recipient, AIA Merit Award; Graduate Salutatorian and University of Missouri, Curators Scholar.
